Ika is a film about Rajesh, a boy living in a slum in Bangalore who wants to make a film. He doesn’t have a camera; he builds a camera using a cardboard box and a magnifying glass. He then sets out with his friend, Prashant, searching for an idea for his film. Then, when they find that one of their friend’s chickens is missing, they decide to make a detective film about searching for the chicken.
Raam Reddy
Raam Reddy is a 24 year old writer-filmmaker who is based in Bangalore. He studied in St.Stephen’s College, New Delhi, where he began writing his debut novel, It’s Raining in Maya, which was self-published early 2012. Upon graduating form St.Stephens, Raam decided to turn his life pursuit into filmmaking. Since 2010, Raam has written and directed eight fiction short films, including “Ika” (2012) which has won national and international awards and has screened in over fifteen international film festivals. In May 2012, Raam graduated with a focus in Direction from Prague Film School. He is currently doing the post-production for his debut fiction feature, a kannada film titled “Thithi”. He is also the founder and director of a small independent production house called Prspctvs Productions.
