Three interconnected stories in present-day Punjab. A woman secretly shelters a wounded stranger within her home, while his family endures the weight of grief and impossible choices. Meanwhile, a mysterious elderly man arrives in a village, calling himself God.

Gurvinder Singh

Gurvinder Singh studied filmmaking at FTII, Pune. His debut feature Anhey Ghorhey Da Daan (Alms for a Blind Horse, 2011) premiered at Venice Orizzonti and screened at Rotterdam, Busan, MoMA New York, winning three National Awards and best film at IFFI, Goa. Chauthi Koot (2015) premiered in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, winning the National Award for Best Punjabi Film. Subsequent works include Bitter Chestnut (Busan, IFFR), Adh Chanani Raat (Crescent Night) (IFFR) and Trolley Times (MAMI, IFFR). Rehmat, his latest feature, premiered recently at the Locarno Film Festival in the Main Competition.
