Alsana lives in a small but chaotic neighbourhood in Ahmedabad. In a place like this, a room of one’s own is hard to come by but Alsana has been given a corner. Only her own rules apply here. This corner takes on different forms – each one an expression of her inner life, which is at odds with the world outside.
Nikita Parikh
Nikita Parikh came to filmmaking through working with children. She travelled to classrooms across the country making videos for Teach For India. During her Masters degree in Education at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, she started researching and using participatory media with teenagers.
