FRYBREAD FACE AND ME

83 mins. |

Poster - FRYBREAD FACE AND ME

In 1990, 12-year-old Benny, a Native American boy from San Diego, is reluctantly sent to his Grandma Lorraine’s Navajo ranch in Arizona. Despite the language barrier and harsh living conditions, Benny learns about family and tradition with the help of his Aunt Lucy and cousin Frybread Face. Frybread Face, a tough and knowledgeable Navajo girl, introduces Benny to Navajo culture, rodeos, and trading post life. When Uncle Marvin gets hurt, Benny and Fry take over ranch duties. Their unlikely friendship leads them on a journey to find love, family, and missing sheep, breaking stereotypes and celebrating Native American life in the process. Frybread Face and Me offers a unique, heartfelt perspective of two young Native kids in a summer of “firsts.”
