Naayo

Naayo

Director: Saheb Ram Tudu
India |  Santhali
2013 | 6min | Colour
Subtitles: English

Naayo, the director’s diploma film is based on a poem that shows the plight of a lonely woman who hides her pain and serves her family. The woman in the poem is a symbol of all females, a symbol of earth that is strong and bears everything. “Naayo”, means woman or mother in Santhali. This poem is based on Santhal women and their tragic journeys, but at the end of the film they are celebrating life.
