Film critic and writer Namrata Joshi will be in conversation with screenwriters Juhi Chaturvedi and Varun Grover. Tracing their careers, this conversation will focus on how, as successful writers, they are able to retain a distinctive independent voice when writing dialogue, lyrics, and scripts across a spectrum of cinema.
Juhi Chaturvedi is a screen-writer best known for her work on the films, Vicky Donor (2012), which won the won the 2013 Filmfare Award for Best Story, and Piku (2015), which won the National Film Award for Best Original Screenplay and Best Dialogues and the 2016 Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay. She is also the writer of October (2018), Dharala Prabhu (2020) and Gulabo Sitabo (2020).
Varun Grover is a screen-writer (Masaan, Sacred Games), National Award winning lyricist (Gangs of Wasseypur, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Ankhon Dekhi, Fan, Udta Punjab), stand-up comedian, and short-story writer. He wrote the short story collection, Paper Chor, and the Mumbai based graphic novel, Biksu.
