A young man cuts out hearts from a sheet of paper and drops them into a pot of water. Confined by the walls of the vessel, they simply circle around. Lharigtso’s haunting, almost monochrome short reflects on the Buddhist saying, “There is no Buddha beyond the mind, and no mind beyond the Buddha.”
A native of Amdo region, Tibet, Lharigtso graduated from Beijing’s China Women’s University with a BA in Media Studies. She has staged international photography exhibitions and co-directed the documentary A Gesar Bard’s Tale (2014) which was screened at DIFF.
