Sakhisona tells the story of a mound near Mogulmari in West Bengal and the nearby dig which recently uncovered the remains of a monastery and relics dating back to the 6th century. The artefacts are featured in the documentary alongside re-enactments of Sakhisona’s folklore and folk songs performed by local musicians.
Calcutta-born Prantik Basu studied film direction and screenwriting at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. His previous work includes Ek, Do (2011), Makara (2013) and Wind Castle (2014).
