A Muslim woman, Raisa, lives with her three younger sisters in Hyderabad’s chaotic Old City. When her mother promises 13-year-old Zainab in marriage to a foreign businessman, Raisa hatches a dangerous and improbable plot to save her sibling from becoming a one-day bride.

    Payal Sethi

    Born in 1979 and raised in New York, Payal Sethi studied at Tisch School of the Arts. She went on to assist Mira Nair on Monsoon Wedding (2001) and The Namesake (2006). Payal is currently working on her first feature as director.
