As their family teeters on the edge of collapse, 12-year-old Manon and her little brother Mimi seem destined to be taken into foster care. Outraged by her situation, and abetted by two cousins, Manon kidnaps an old woman and flees to the countryside, in the hope of starting a new life with a surrogate grandmother.
Originally trained as an actor, Luc Picard rose to fame in Canada on the TV show Omertà (1996-1999). He later moved into writing and directing, with the features l’Audition (2005), Babine (2008) and Ésimésac (2012), as well as contributing to the anthology film 9 (2016).
